100 Years Experience

100 Years Experience
The knowledge relating to Portland cement hydration came predominantly from basic research in the 60s and 70s. New, more accurate and more detailed findings were obtained in the 90s as a result of improved and innovative methods of investigation in conjunction with computer technology
The first POLVITEC® activated coke filter to be installed in the cement industry went into operation early in 1994 at the Siggenthal cement works in Switzerland. This activated coke filter was augmented by an SNCR system for reducing the nitrogen oxides formed in the burning process
From issue 3-1995 on most articles are published as German and English versions side by side
Starting in 1985, Chichibu Cement Co. Ltd. and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd jointly developed a process in which a roller mill with a mechanical material discharge system is connected up as a primary mill to an existing tube mill, increasing the throughput and reducing energy consumption.
The importance of having an adequate supply of raw materials with assured future availability has become extremely evident in the recent past
The numerous large installations in the cement industry, with outputs in excess of 3000 t/day, which have been built in the present decade require high throughputs from the electrostatic precipitators too.
(A complete English translation is published in a later issue of ZKG, called Edition B. Previously, English and French summaries accompanied the technical articles)
A report on the experience gained over a period of one year in the operation of a 3300 tons/day plant with the world's largest Lepol kiln at the Lägerdorf cement works owned by the Alsen-Breitenburg Zement- und Kalkwerke.
The three-part article describes the theoretics of preheater technology in the cement industry. Part 1 in 1971 is dedicated to the calculation of the heat balance.
A comprehensive set of contemporary dedusting solutions in the year 1961
The aim is to communicate the results from worldwidescientific research and to make them applicable to production
The mysterious damage to the refractory lining of a Lepol kiln in contrast to the behaviour of other kilns equipped with the same material.
The characterisation of the alite and calcium aluminate phases by x-ray diffraction is refined. Previously, alite was interpreted as a mixture of belite and lime…
Modernization and optimization are already in 1921 important topics both for plant design and performance enhancement
