Supporting slag applications
The 6. European Slag Conference of EUROSLAG – The European Slag Association, will be held from 20.–22.10.2010, in Madrid/Spain, and is to be organised by UNESID (Spanish Steel Association). The objective of the conference is to encourage the exchange of knowledge and promotion of more suitable technical, innovative, environmental sound and efficient uses on the less widely utilised slag, such as electric arc furnaces for both carbon and stainless steel and LD/AOD slags. An additional effort will be made to improve its use in Southern Europe. The conference will also deal with the main challenges arising from the most recent environmental and technical legislation (REACH, presence of dangerous substances etc). It will also include sessions related to more recent developments regarding blast furnace slags.
