Adhesion between tile adhesive and modified rear sides of porcelain tiles

Experiments were conducted on the quality of the bonding achieved by tile adhesives with various pre-treated rear sides of tiles. Conclusions drawn from the results point to ways of improving the bonding between mortar and tile and thereby extending the lifetime of the tiling. The latex additive of the tile adhesive is primarily responsible for the adhesion to a material of such low porosity.
