Conveyor solutions at Gotland

Apeco successfully completed the conveyor system project at the Cementa cement plant in Slite, Gotland/Sweden. Within the framework of the project, Apeco delivered two belt conveyors with different transhipment chutes and flap-valves to the client. The company also carried out a comprehensive rebuilding of the transhipment building. The supplied conveyors are capable of transporting sand or slag with a productivity of 600 t/h. The specific feature of the project is the fact that the Duroxite abrasion resistant steel, which is specially manufactured by SSAB, was used as the base material for the chutes. The equipment was designed and installed on the hill with limited bearing points.
The equipment supplied is part of the Cementa project, which aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions from cement production by introducing new materials.
Cementa develops, manufactures and markets cement products that contribute to improving the productivity and profitability of its customers. Cementa has more than 125 years of experience in the cement industry and is part of the HeidelbergCement Group.
