IFAT, MUNICH/Germany (05.-09.05.2014)

IFAT more successful than ever before

Between 5th and 9th May, a total of 3081 exhibitors from 59 countries presented environmental technology on 230 000 m2 on the trade show in Munich.

This five-day event came to a successful end and the Managing Director of the Messe Munich was overwhelmed by the response: “The IFAT has broken all previous records. Impressively, we welcomed more than 135 000 visitors from all over the world.” And the Chairman of the Advisory Board of IFAT agreed “that this IFAT has been one of the most interesting and successful trade shows ever. The expansion to the exhibition space and the very good figures for visitors show that we are on the right track.”

IFAT presents the world’s most extensive display of solutions, services and equipment in the field of environmental technology and resource management. Short running resources, increasing raw material and energy prices, pollution control, waste management and water purification stimulates the demand for technical solutions, not only in emerging countries. This trade show, focussing on waste and raw materials management as well as on water, identifies strategies and applications for closing cycles for using resources in a sustainable and highly efficient manner.

According to IFAT this year a large number of visitors came from abroad. Approximately, 60 000 visitors from outside Germany were the highest proportion. Most came from Europe, ranking respectively from Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation, Spain and Great Britain.

The exhibitors were also pleased with the high standard of the visitors, as confirmed in the survey conducted by TNS Infratest during the event: 94 percent of the exhibiting companies found the standard of the visitors to be “good” or “excellent”. A large number of exhibitors commented, that this year again the audience was very international with a high level of decision-making competence and there were lots of interesting and business-orientated discussions.
