CEMEX cement plants systematize energy management

In November 2011 the newly introduced CEMEX energy management system was successfully certified by TÜV-Nord in the five German cement plants according to the DIN EN 16001:2009 - energy management systems. The CEMEX energy management system met the requirements of the standard at the locations of CEMEX West-Zement GmbH (Beckum, Duisburg-Schwelgern), CEMEX HüttenZement GmbH (Dortmund) and CEMEX OstZement GmbH (Rüdersdorf near Berlin, Eisenhüttenstadt). “The excellent data collection and data preparation by the local colleagues was particularly helpful”, said Ralf Korsen, Energy Management/Energy Tax of the parent company CEMEX Deutschland AG. “Actually energy management is part of the core business in the cement industry, and in our daily business and in reportings we already use the essential elements of energy management. This enormously facilitated the certification.”
