(57) The present invention describes the use of a polycarboxylate ether as an air-entraining agent in a composition comprising a hydraulic binder, wherein the polycarboxylate ether is a copolymer comprising monomer units A of acrylic acid or a salt thereof and monomer units B of polyethylene glycol isoprenyl ether and/or polyethylene glycol methallyl ether. The air-entraining agent is particularly suitable for mortar cements, in particular for mortar cements comprising fly ash.
