Buzzi Unicem acquires 50 % of Ecotrade S.p.A.
At the beginning of 2017 Buzzi Unicem acquired 50 % of Ecotrade S.p.A., a company with approximately 30 years of experience in the commercialization and recycling of industrial waste and byproducts for cement production.
Ecotrade has been handling contracts to supply coal ash from power plants and blast furnace slags from steel mills around the world for decades, supplying them to cement plants scattered across several continents. Deliveries of these byproducts have reached peaks of over two million tons per year.
Ecotrade S.p.A. is a member of the “Italian Register of Environmental Operators”, and has a national distribution network covering the entire country, making tens of thousands of deliveries by trailer trucks each year.
Buzzi Unicem’s goal is to leverage Ecotrade’s experience in its field to expand the scope of collaboration from only Italy to other countries, where Buzzi Unicem plays a leading role.
