The T 264 is equipped with a combination of the efficient Litronic Plus AC drive system and a powerful engine of up to 2013 kW. Developed and built by Liebherr, the proven Litronic Plus drive system determines the optimal way to extract power from the diesel engine. Efficient loading of the engine is critical to minimize fuel consumption and maximize performance. Depending on the range of application, the T 264 can be operated for around 24 hours without refuelling. This is due to the low fuel consumption and a tank capacity of 4920 litres. The AC drive system enables dynamic braking with up to 3300 kW. High-power dynamic braking improves the truck’s downhill travel speed and ability to descend haul roads quickly and safely.
As all Liebherr mining trucks, the T 264 is equipped with ladders that permit easy access to the motor. The motor and the alternator are accessible from both sides of the chassis, and the axle box can also be accessed from two points for maintenance and inspection. The hydraulic oil filters and the isolation diode, as well as the filler openings for fuel, hydraulic oil, lubricants and coolants, are all located close to the ground.
The integral electronic system monitors important performance data of the mining truck, records them and reads them out. The data are stored and can be downloaded to enable detailed analysis. This system supports preventive maintenance strategies for the avoidance of unplanned downtimes.
The first pre-series models of the Liebherr T 264 mining truck are undergoing field tests for valifation under real mining conditions.
