Fire and flame: New managing director fires up the kiln at the cement plant
After a six-week overhaul, the rotary kiln at the Kirchdorf cement plant is back in operation. A total of 29000 working hours were invested. Important work included the replacement of 230 t of refractory material and 1320 filter bags. This regular maintenance work is crucial for the smooth operation of the plant.
New Managing Director Joao Paulo Pereira fired up the furnace for the first time. At his side were long-serving employees Erich Stadler (37 years of service) and Franz Lueger (47 years of service), who started up the furnace for the last time before their retirement.
In addition to the routine work, numerous modernizations were carried out, including a new dosing system for substitute fuels, the renewal of screw conveyors and a new storage tank. With an annual capacity of around 500000 t of cement, the Kirchdorfer Zementwerk, parent company of the Kirchdorfer Group, is consolidating its position as an innovative and future-oriented employer in the region.
