ZKG Cement Lime Gypsum has been writing industrial history in the truest sense of the word for 111 years. As the market leader for cement and concrete in the Alpe Adria region, Alpacem therefore looks back with pride on the strong partnership with a quality medium that is unique for our industry. Unique because it is both a valuable source of information and a platform. In short, ZKG focuses on where innovation and development take place every day.
For example, Alpacem has invested many millions of euros in sustainability and innovation projects at its sites in Austria, Slovenia and Italy in recent years. As a result, the Wietersdorf cement plant in Carinthia was even awarded the international environmental prize of the cement industry in 2018. At the same location, our hydropower plants then opened at the end of 2021 after a two-year revitalization, supplying 25% of the site with self-produced green electricity. At the same time, we were able to commission Slovenia’s first hydrogen filling station at the Anhovo site. And in Italy, we succeeded in reducing the water consumption of our ready-mix concrete plants by 5500 m3 per year with a new recycling system. For each of these projects, we were able to rely on detailed and in-depth reporting by ZKG Cement Lime Gypsum – for which we would like to express our sincere thanks!
Especially today, against the backdrop of climate change, quality reporting on the cement industry’s commitment to sustainability and digitalization is more important than ever.
