Support program for young and
innovative companies

Young and innovative companies can make use of the support given by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology for their participation at the trade fairs POWTECH (worldwide leading trade fair for mechanical process engineering and analytical chemistry) and the TechnoPharm (international trade fair for pharmaceutical products, food and cosmetics), which will
take place jointly at the exhibition centre in Nuremberg from 27.-29.04.2010. It is not only worthwhile from a financial point of view, because innovative newcomers are in the best company in this attractive trade fair group with more than 1000 exhibitors and more than 16 000 visitors.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology supports the participation of young innovative companies in the most important international trade fairs of different branches in Germany. The large and prominently situated joint stand for young companies at POWTECH/TechnoPharm will be organized and promoted by the NürnbergMesse and supported by the AUMA (Exhibition and Fair Committee of the German Economy) as regards export service. Within this framework companies can be refunded 80 % of the participation costs (e.  g. space rental, stand design, furnishing, electricity costs, communication package and AUMA fee). Thus, the participation costs are reduced to about 103.00 €/m².

At the POWTECH companies eligible for promotion are those, which exhibit new products and processes in the following fields: basic processes for powders/bulk solids, apparatus construction, process components, particle analysis and characterization, nanoparticle technology, measuring, testing, control, safety and environmental technology as well as services. If the company is domiciled and does business in Germany, if they comply with the valid EU definition for small companies (less than 50 employees, annual turnover of less than 10 million €) and if they are younger than 10 years, there will be no further obstacle to a successful participation at the POWTECH or TechnoPharm 2010. Since the number of participants is limited because of the space available, the project team of both trade fairs recommends registration by December 2009. Information as regards the promotional program is given by the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control; application form for promotion under www.bafa.de. Interested companies can obtain information regarding the promoted joint stand from the
project team of the NürnbergMesse at www.powtech.de or www.technopharm.de.

Attractive supporting program
at POWTECH 20101

Today, plant safety and explosion protection in the powder and bulk solids processing industries as well as in the process technologies for pharmaceutical products, food and cosmetics are issues which are more important than ever. Therefore it goes without saying that the POWTECH/TechnoPharm 2010, as the leading trade fair group, will offer a platform for this important topic. The dust explosions taking place in the exhibition grounds every day (Fig. 1) will impressively demonstrate the potential danger.

The VDI Wissensforum Düsseldorf will offer a seminar as accompanying event dealing with the topic ‘explosion protection’ on 26.-27.04.2010. There the essential requirements of the operational safety regulations will be presented comprehensively and in step with actual practice based on case studies. The participants will learn how an assessment of the danger will be structured and carried out and fundamentals as regards the arrangement and marking of zones in explosion-prone ranges will be explained. Preventive and constructive measures of explosion protection will be presented based on examples. For further information refer to: www.vdi-wissensforum.de.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research will also again be present with its “nanoTruck” at the next POWTECH/TechnoPharm. This designation stands for a mobile exhibition and communication centre that presents nanotechnology on two levels bringing the theory from scientific laboratories directly to the people. For further information refer to www.nanotruck.de.

WCPT6: News from particle technology

Next year the World Congress on Particle Technology (WCPT), supported by the PARTEC Congress, will take place for the second time parallel to the combined trade fair POWTECH/TechnoPharm. During this world congress the latest results and experience from all fields of particle technology will be comprehensively presented and discussed. During four days more than 1000 scientists from all over the world will exchange views as regards their research results.
“We are pleased about the approximately 750 presentations from
42 countries, which are currently being checked by the program advisory board and that already now promise 4 four highly interesting days”, said Claus Rättich, member of the board of the NürnbergMesse.
