Polysius activities in India

Very positive operating experience, together with significantly lower energy requirement and resultant cost reductions, are good reasons to invest in grinding plants equipped with ­POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding rolls. Within a space of only 6 months, leading cement manufacturers in India (Fig. 1) have awarded Polysius more than 10 orders for new ­POLYCOM® systems (Fig. 2).

 

Raw and cement grinding plants for Vicat Sagar Cement

Vicat Sagar Cement Private Ltd. selected Polysius grinding systems for their new factory in Chatrasala, Gulbarga District, in the Indian state of Karnataka. Two POLYCOM® grinding systems will be responsible for grinding the raw material. Each system will consist of a POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding roll with two 1425 kW drive units and a SEPOL® HR high-efficiency separator and will have a rated output of 250 tph of raw meal. The two cement grinding plants will be operated as combi-grinding systems, i.e. each plant will consist of a ­POLYCOM® with two 1800 kW drives, a STATOSEP® separator, a 4.0 m x 8.0 m ball mill with a 1800 kW drive and a SEPOL®-SVC separator. Each grinding plant will produce 200 tonnes of cement per hour.

Cement grinding plant for Penna Cement

Penna Cement Industries Ltd. has contracted Polysius to supply a cement grinding plant for installation at Panvel, near Mumbai in the Indian province of Maharashtra. The new grinding plant is to be a combi-grinding system consisting of POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding roll with two 1540 kW drives, a ­SEPOL®-PC high-efficiency separator and a ball mill. The grinding plant will have a rated output of 320 tph of ordinary Portland cement.

Cement grinding plants with POLYCOM® for Madras Cements

Madras Cements Ltd. is going to equip three factories in the Indian province of Tamil Nadu with latest-generation ­POLYCOM® cement grinding plants. The R.R. Nagar factory is to be equipped with a POLYCOM high-pressure grinding roll with SEPOL high-efficiency separator placed upstream of the ball mill already installed in the plant. The grinding plant will have a rated cement output of 250 tph.The grinding plant at the Salem factory will also be upgraded by installing a ­POLYCOM® with SEPOL®-PC high-efficiency separator upstream of the ball mill. It will produce 230 tonnes of cement per hour. The grinding plant to be installed at the Ariyalur factory is to consist of a POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding roll, a ­SEPOL®-PC high-efficiency separator and a ball mill for an output of 230 tph of cement.

 

Cement grinding plants for Birla Corp.

Birla Corp. Ltd. placed an order with Polysius for three new cement grinding plants for the Chanderia Cement factory in the province of Rajasthan, as well as for Satna Cement in the province of Madhy Pradesh. The two grinding plants installed at the Chanderia factory will each be equipped with a ­POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding roll with 2 x 1,450 kW drive and a ­SEPOL®-PC separator. The POLYCOM® units are to be installed upstream of the ball mills already existing at the factory. Grinding plant I has a rated cement output of 315 tph, while grinding plant II has a rated cement output of 325 tph. The Satna factory will also receive a POLYCOM® high-pressure grinding roll with 2 x 1450 kW drive and a SEPOL®-PC separator. In combination with the existing ball mill, the POLYCOM® will bring the grinding plant up to a rated cement output of 330 tph.

 

Modernisation of cement grinding plants at Vasavadatta Cement

After Polysius successfully modernised the grinding plants of kiln lines 3 and 4, Vasavadatta Cement (a member company of Kesoram Industries Ltd.) has awarded a follow-up order for modernisation of the grinding plants of kiln lines 1 and 2 of the Sedam factory. In the case of kiln line 1, a POLYCOM® (2 x 1,018 kW drive) equipped with a SEPOL®-HR static-dynamic separator will be installed upstream of the existing ball mill. In the cement grinding plant of kiln line 2, the static separator will be replaced by a SEPOL®-HR separator. After conversion the grinding plants will each produce 300 tonnes of cement per hour.
