Sustainable construction

Since November 2010 Lafarge Zement has been a member of the German Association for Sustainable Construction (Deutsche Gesellschaft für nachhaltiges Bauen – DGNB). The non-profit organization consists of leading experts and institutions of the building trade and the real-estate economy and devotes itself to the topics of sustainable construction as well as environmental and health protection. Amongst other things, they have introduced a certification system to evaluate and award sustainable construction on the basis of a holistic approach as regards the overall life cycle. “One of the strategic priorities of Lafarge is to develop products and solutions enabling sustainable construction”, said Solène Oger, marketing manager of Lafarge Zement. “The membership in the DGNB is an important step to further develop the topic of sustainable construction with Lafarge Zement in Germany.”
