Dr. Heinz-Ulrich Schäfer has died
Dr. Heinz-Ulrich Schäfer (Fig.) passed away on 11 February 2011. Dr. Schaefer studied geol-ogy and graduated from the Technical University of Clausthal-Zellerfeld/Germany, which later awarded a Ph.D. to him for his research on raw materials for cement production. Since 1976 he has been working in the field of process engineering with reputable companies like KHD Humboldt Wedag, Loesche and recently with Christian Pfeiffer. He was dealing with the process technology of complete cement plants, with mechanical and chemical process engineering as well as with material handling. In the last 16 years he focussed on clinker and slag grinding and the quality of cement and ground slag produced by means of different grinding technologies. Christian Pfeiffer commemorated Dr. Schäfer as a recognized, competent and esteemed colleague.
