A company with long tradition up-to-date

LOIBL Allen-Sherman-Hoff
In 1960 Dipl.-Eng. Arthur Loibl founded the predecessor of the present company LOIBL Allen-Sherman-Hoff GmbH in Straubing/Lower Bavaria, which continuously adapted its manufacturing engineering to the requirements of its customers. “Then as today, our own manufacturing and quality assurance have always been in the spotlight. As much as possible should be manufactured by ourselves – you know what you’ll get”, underlined Ralf Zander, Sales Manager of LOIBL A‑S‑H. “Approximately four years ago this led a large American company to seek a widely diversified German company as a strategic partner for international business, which could demonstrate German know-how combined with a high level of in-house production.”

Allen-Sherman-Hoff is part of the Diamond Power Inc., a worldwide leading company in all fields of boiler cleaning technology and of mechanical and pneumatic material handling systems. Headquartered in Lancaster/Ohio, USA, the company has more than 80 manufacturing, sales and service locations all over the world. On the other hand, Diamond Power belongs to the Babcock & Wilcox Group, which, amongst other things, focuses on the construction of coal-fired and biomass power plants worldwide

Due to this network of business and sales locations of Diamond Power with about 1300 employees, new markets and channels of distribution were opened for LOIBL A‑S‑H. “The fact of having colleagues in our own group, for instance from North and South America, essentially facilitated the access to new markets for us,” said Ralf Zander.

Thus, today LOIBL A‑S‑H has 25 employees in construction and engineering, while erecting of mechanical material handling systems for power stations and steel mills as well as for the entire bulk industry with more than 100 employees. In time the construction of turnkey dry building material plants has developed into a main focus including the entire control systems in addition to the construction of silos and steel structures.

The company with its 120 employees and an annual turnover of approx. 25 million € is one of the most successful and well-known medium-sized companies in the field of mechanical engineering and bulk handling.

“The loyalty to the company is remarkable. Many employees are from the region and stay with the company more than 10 years and longer … even in the sales department!”, Ralf Zander added, respectively taking into account his five colleagues in the sales department. “With its about 45 000 inhabitants, Straubing offers an attractive environment and adequate cultural and entertainment facilities! We still have many plans for the future!”
