Argos to acquire cement plant and eight cement terminals in the US from HeidelbergCement for US$ 660 million

In line with its strategy for international expansion and growth, Argos has entered into an agreement with HeidelbergCement to acquire its cement plant in Martinsburg, West Virginia, as well as eight cement terminals located in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia, for US$ 660 million.

Rated as the most energy-efficient cement plant in the U.S., the Martinsburg cement plant will increase Argos’ installed cement capacity by 2.2 million t to 9.9 million t/a. In addition to the physical assets, Argos will also add 198 new employees to its team. Integrating well into its current U.S. footprint, these assets will allow Argos to become a player in this market due to the strategic location of the terminals and cement plant, as well as the enhancement of its current logistics network.
