Klaus Dyckerhoff Prize awarded for the 4th time

On the occasion of the 7th Inter­national VDZ Congress in Duesseldorf/Germany, the Klaus Dyckerhoff Prize was awarded to Duncan Herfort for his outstanding work in the field of cement production. Duncan Herfort, Chief Scientist at ­Cementir Holding S.p.A. ­Aalborg Portland,  Dänemark, was particularly honored for his major achievements in the field of cement chemistry. The jury underlined the various renowned scientific publications he has written about the interactions of cement constituents and their effects on cement hydration.

The laudatories underlined the high practical relevance of his research work which substantially contributes to a deeper understanding of how the use of hydraulic binders and material interactions can influence the performance and durability of concrete.

The prize is endowed with 30 000 Euro and is awarded every two years. This year the prize is being awarded for the 4th time.
