Saint-Gobain Weber expands Weilerswist plant location

The company has doubled the size of its factory premises by purchasing adjacent land. Two new halls are being built on the additional space. While the previous factory buildings will then offer more space for production, the new halls will considerably expand storage capacities. The location is conveniently situated on the A 61 freeway in the Cologne/Bonn area. Saint-Gobain Weber is investing a double-digit million amount in the construction measures.

In Weilerswist, the building materials manufacturer produces, among other things, tile adhesives as well as jointing and repair mortars in addition to fine plasters. After the expansion, Weber will manufacture products here in three-shift operation according to more than 300 recipes. Of Weber’s 14 production sites in Germany, Weilerswist is thus the one with the greatest variety of articles.

The construction measures were kicked off with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on August 24, with the spade being replaced by an excavator in keeping with the times. Outgoing Managing Director Florent Pouzet, who has been involved in the planning of the plant expansion for the past two years, operated the excavator shovel together with his successor Dr Mara Terzoli, who took over as Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Weber in September.
