Specialist ZKG excursions for students

With a predicted world cement consumption of 2.8 billion t cement in 2010 the cement industry is an important and attractive branch of industry that is growing constantly and places demands on all areas of mechanical, chemical and thermal process engineering. This series of events is intended to bridge the gap between theory and practice for students from the engineering sector and to open up a very specialized technical field for them in mechanical and process engineering. Specialists from cement plant construction are being invited to one cement works at a time to give presentations to provide a detailed description of a specialized segment in cement production. The highlights of the two-day specialist excursions are the afternoon works visits conducted by experts from the host cement works during which the students can ask plenty of questions about the engineering plants in the cement works. The students and speakers then meet in a relaxed group in the evening to exchange ideas.
