The future of Cemat is autonomous and digitalized

Siemens is continuing to develop its PCS 7 Minerals Automation Standard Cemat (MinAS/Cemat) control system. The latest release V9.0 includes improvements to existing functions and the addition of new ones.

Siemens has been busy developing new and improved features for Cemat, its control system for industries in the cement, building materials and mining sectors, and has just released the V9.0 onto the market. The PCS 7 Minerals Automation Standard Cemat is based on the Simatic PCS 7 V9.0 and is capable of mapping the entire automation chain – from mining the raw materials through to packaging the end products. The Cemat Version V9.0 offers a range of new features, including an new interlock module and added visualization functions. Users can update their projects efficiently to the new version.

Additional features

Updating older projects will become easier with the new interlock module which has two inputs. Also new is the zoom function for faceplates, which are opened with a mouse click on a symbol to display detailed information about an object. With effect from Version 9.0, the faceplates of the different aggregates can now be opened directly from the maintenance list. The SPC (Scalable Process Control) upgrades include a Bool module (for example used for switching devices) enhanced user rights, and a material manager which can be cascaded and is able to communicate from PLC to PLC. Symbols which also visualize active bypasses have been added. The PCS 7 standard tag-browser and the standard for trend grouping is now used with MinAS/Cemat. The new Cemat Version V9.0 is also available to users as an SUS (Software Update Service).
