VDZ Annual Cement Conference 2016

The VDZ Annual Cement Conference, as the annual meeting of the cement, concrete and related industries sector, combines national and European industrial and economic policy issues with the latest topics on cement and concrete science and technology.

The Paris Climate Protection Agreement showed that national and international climate protection and implementation of the energy transition still count among the dominant fields of political action this year. The cement industry, as an energy intensive sector, remains exposed to such exceptional challenges as the reform of the EU’s emissions trading scheme. How is European energy and climate policy affecting the competitive position of cement producers and, indeed, of Germany as an industrial nation? The political and economic environment in the construction sector and how it impacts the demand for cement and concrete is another topic of major importance. These central concerns and numerous other techno-scientific issues concerning cement and concrete processing/technology will be discussed and debated at this year’s VDZ Annual Cement Conference, coming up in Duesseldorf on 27.09.–28.09.2016.
