Digitalization - From PDF to DPP

The European Commission has included the digital product passport (DPP) concept in the new CPR (construction product regulation) and other EU Regulations, such as the ESPR (ecodesign for sustainable products), as tool to transfer meaningful information in the value chain. This system presents opportunities for leading companies to improve communication with their customers and suppliers, but also challenges in terms of the potential resources required. In order to transform the formats used by manufacturers to communicate characteristics from today‘s PDF or paper to tomorrow‘s DPP, the industry will need to adapt the systems used to generate, manage and capture construction product information. This presentation will cover the standardisation works related with the digital declaration of performance and conformity (DoPC) of construction products and other related developments in the BIM and DPP committees.
