From EPD to DoPC

The freshly published Construction Products Regulation, EU 2024/3110 (CPR 2024), and the delegated regulation EU 2024/2769 amending EU 305/2011 (CPR 2011), introduces new assessment and verification systems (AVS and AVCP system 3+) for communicating the environmental performance of construction products. These new environmental characteristics build upon and aim to gradually replace the current voluntary private Environmental Product Decalrations (EPD).

Together, we will explore the transition process and timeline regarding the implementation of these environmental essential characteristics. Furthermore, we will examine the distribution of responsibilities among manufacturers, notified bodies, and member states under the new AVS 3+. We will also map the similarities and differences between the new AVS system and the existing EPD framework, and forecast their potential coexistence over the coming 1-2 decades.

Finally, we will have a deep dive into anticipated standardization request and the new elements required for the declaration of environmental performance, including life cycle modules, parameterized scenarios, and the implementation of factory production control.
