DBU promotes new process for the
reduction of carbon dioxide emissions

The Weimar-based IBU-tec advanced materials AG wants to reduce the CO2 emissions generated during the cement making process. “The carbon dioxide emissions are to be reduced by up to 40  % by means of a new manufacturing process”, underlined Dr. Fritz Brickwedde, Secretary General of the Federal German Foundation for the Environment (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt – DBU). “The goal is to change the raw material basis of cement and to replace limestone by industrial waste”, explained Steffen Vogel, representative of the company.
