In October 2008 the editorial office of ZKG INTERNATIONAL had the opportunity to gather first-hand experience of research and the use of building materials in China. The occasion for this was an invitation from Prof. Hongyi Jiang and Dr. Qinglin Zhao (Fig. 1) of the Wuhan University of Technology to attend a lecture on the subject “Conception and Implementation of Technical Publications”.
