Dal Teknik Makina to start upgrading project
at Gazakh Cement in Azerbaijan
Dal Teknik Makina will carry out the Gazakh Cement Plant LLC upgrade project to increase the clinker production capacity from 2500 to 3300 t/d. The supply of equipment is expected to be completed in six months and the shutdown period is planning to be five weeks. Dal evaluated the current situation of the specified bottlenecks and offered an upgrade plan involving the following three units:
raw mill unit
kiln de-dusting unit
pyro process unit
First part of the upgrade project will be the retrofit of the raw mill unit. A static drying separator will be placed in front of the raw mill to dry clay and some portion of limestone. Equipment which is planned to be replaced in the raw mill unit are the dynamic separator, ball charge modification, all parts of the separator cyclones and the raw mill fan. Hence the raw mill grinding capacity will be upgraded by drying the raw materials and enhancing the separation efficiency.
The next part will consist of replacing the raw mill/kiln bag filter and filter fan to reach the desired upgraded capacity.
The last part will be the modification of the pyro process unit. In order to reach 3300 t/d capacity, the equipment to be changed will be the first 4 stage cyclones with the modification of the calciner-TAD connection and new splash boxes will be installed.
