HeidelbergCement AG announces Fritz & Macziol as “Preferred Supplier”
The IT-Logistic Solution VAS of Fritz & Macziol (FuM) becomes an integral part of the „Logistic Efficiency Optimization“ initiative (LEO) of the HeidelbergCement AG. Within this project an integrated material-flow management will be introduced that will lead to a considerable cost reduction in the fields of logistics for the corporate group. Globally several plants in the business lines of cement, aggregates (sand & gravel) as well as concrete will be equipped with the IT solution VAS® from FRITZ & MACZIOL. The implementation of VAS® will lead to a significant optimization for the dispatch and the related logistical processes, as the increased level of automation will result in a much faster execution of many activities within the single plants.
Currently four German cement plants of the HeidelbergCement group run the IT-Logistic solution VAS. The solution will now be further implemented in the remaining German plants whereas at the same time both sides will work on the international roll-out.
VAS® is a process-orientated software solution for the raw materials industry and forms the entire process chain from delivery via dispatch and loading, right up to departure. As the link between ERP systems and technical systems, VAS® represents a key function and an “adjusting screw” for efficient process sequences. In addition, VAS® supports reporting functions and supplies real-time information to further systems, for example for production, sales or controlling. All external technical systems such as the weighing, silo or metering technology are completely integrated into the logistics system processes. VAS® is currently used in more than 160 plants worldwide within the raw materials industry.
