(57) A modular assembly (2) is described for coating with refractory material the tip of a burner which introduces solid or liquid fuel into a rotary kiln for producing cement or lime. The modular assembly comprises at least one module (1.1, 1.2) formed by metal rings (3) provided with anchoring clips (4) covered with a mass of refractory material (2), wherein at least one module (1.1, 1.2) envelops the outer tube of the tip of a burner and is detachably fastened thereto.
