Mohammed A. Al-Garni appointed WCA Vice President
The World Cement Association announced that it has appointed Mr. Mohammed A. Al-Garni as Vice President. As well as being a long-standing Director and Board Member of the WCA, Mr. Al-Garni is Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Cement Company.
Mr. Al-Garni has 35 years of experience in the cement sector and as a member of the National Cement Companies Committee has developed significant knowledge and managerial expertise in the cement industry.
He holds a range of roles, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Cement Company’s affiliates – United Cement Company (UCC) in Bahrain, and the Cement Product Industry Co. Ltd. (CPI) in Jeddah/Saudi Arabia, and is a member of the Arab Union for Cement & Building Materials (AUCBM).
Mr. Al-Garni was the Project Director for one of Saudi Cement’s largest cement manufacturing facility expansion projects, wherein they successfully installed, erected and commissioned two lines of 10000 t/d capacity, which was considered the largest project of its kind in the whole region at that time.
On 03.09.2019, WCA Vice President and SCC CEO, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Garni met with CUCC Chairman, Mr. Xingtai Cui and Director General of WCA Beijing Representative Office, Mr. Frank Liu.
They had in-depth discussions on the cement market status in China and Saudi Arabia, as well as sharing thoughts on the upcoming WCA World Cement Conference, which will take place in Shanghai on 09.09.-11.01.2019.
