1 Introduction

Due to the high CO2 emissons of conventional cement production currently a range of concepts for alternative “green cement” is investigated by engineers and researchers from within and outside the cement community. All of these approaches aim to partly reduce or even replace Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).
