(57) The present invention relates to a plant (10) for producing cement or processing ores, having a processing apparatus (34) for mechanically and/or thermally processing a material and a material preheater (30), arranged upstream of the processing apparatus (34) as seen in the flow direction of the material, in which heat is transferred from the exhaust gas of the processing apparatus (34) to the material, wherein the material preheater (30) comprises at least one heat exchanger stage (12, 14, 16), wherein an exhaust gas treatment apparatus (32) is connected to at least some of the exhaust gas of the processing apparatus (34) upstream of at least one heat exchanger stage (12, 14, 16) of the material preheater (30) as seen in the flow direction of the exhaust gas.
