Rohrdorfer Group brings Tobias Schwab on board as commercial director
On June 1st 2022, Rohrdorfer has appointed Tobias Schwab, 45, as commercial director and member of the management board of the group of companies. In this role, he has been responsible for the organization and execution of individual and consolidated financial statements, controlling, human resources, legal and taxes since the first of June. As an expert in energy management, he will also be responsible for expanding structured electricity procurement. The new commercial manager will be based in Rohrdorf, Bavaria, where Rohrdorfer has its headquarters.
Tobias Schwab brings with him more than 20 years of experience in finance, controlling and accounting. Before starting at Rohrdorfer, he completed a classic career at the international chemical group Alzchem, from controller to commercial manager. His last position at Alzchem was Head of Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Group Accounting and Energy. As a Member of the Board, he was responsible for the subsidiary Nordic Carbide AB, Sundsvall, not only for the commercial but also for the operational business. In his private life, Tobias Schwab is a passionate extreme mountaineer and has successfully climbed two eight-thousanders, Manaslu and Broad Peak, among others.
Increasingly generating group sales with sustainable products and producing basic products, such as cement, in a climate-neutral way by 2040 – these are currently major challenges for the building materials industry and thus for Rohrdorfer. For CO2-neutral production, the company is dependent on the supply of electricity from renewable energies. To achieve this, Tobias Schwab will be responsible for expanding structured electricity procurement. In addition, under Schwab’s leadership, an ESG (Environmental and Social Governance) reporting system will be established, under which the 30 Rohrdorf companies will document and disclose their environmental, social and corporate governance activities.
