SCHWENK ZEMENT

Schwenk Zement tightens its core business – Board complete

In appointing Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Spannagl, the Schwenk Zement KG board has now completed its operational management team.

Until his new move, Thomas Spannagl (48) had spent 18 years in a range of managerial posts with Lafarge Cement in Europe and North America. He was most recently responsible, as CEO of Lafarge Central Europe, for the group’s activities in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia.

The cement and concrete business units, and their assigned companies, will in future be allied together under a unified management in the Schwenk Zement Deutschland division.

In addition to Thomas Spannagl, Chairman of the Board of Management and responsible for Marketing, Sales, Production, Product Technology and R&D, the board now consists of Dr. Stefan Fink (56), responsible for Administration, Finance, Controlling and Procurement, and Gerhard Kaminski (50), whose brief covers Personnel, Organisation, IT and Corporate Communications.

The Board of Management will continue to report to personally-liable shareholder Eduard Schleicher (60) and Gerhard Hirth (65), CEO of the Schwenk group of companies.
