Trends?

Dear Readers,

We often ask where the trends are going – big, very powerful and stationary or mobile, agile and flexible? Mega plants or smaller modules – or a crossover? This discussion exists at many processing stages in raw material technology. In the article “Latest trends in modular cement grinding plants” (from p. 36), our market overview shows the latest worldwide trends on this topic.

Not only does the size and flexibility of plants play a role in determining trends, but also the question of sustainability, energy consumption and related CO2 emissions is a trend ... but wait, what exactly is a trend? A definition from the German Duden dictionary says that it is a (general) development in a certain direction. Deriving from that, I would say the development of Green Cements is definitely a trend. In the article “Road map for green cement production” (starting on p. 44), the production and use of calcined clays in cement production is discussed in detail.

And perhaps you will discover even more trends while reading this issue of ZKG Cement Lime Gypsum – and another tip: feel free to take a look at the column of this issue on p. 73, where you are invited to let your thoughts run wild.

We wish you an interesting and happy time
