New grinding plant from CEMTEC for Ciments de L’Afrique in Abidjan
To enforce its commitment to the African market, Ciments de L’Afrique has awarded a contract to CEMTEC for a new cement grinding plant at their existing facility 15 km outside of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The new grinding facility will have a capacity of 500000 tpa which doubles the existing production capacity. The key components of the plant are a shell supported ball mill 3.8 x 11 m with installed motor power of 2250 kW, and a separator CTC-110 with improved rotor design to reduce power consumption and increase separation efficiency.
The scope of supply includes the raw material handling, including intermediate silos, grinding section, cement silos with bulk loading, transport to existing packaging plant, electric and control system, structural steel building, civil works and complete erection. The main challenge is the integration of the new grinding facility into the existing plant structure with minimal interference and in the shortest possible time. The plant will be fully operational towards end of 2015.
