A quarry is returned to nature after end of operations
Unlike almost any other region in Germany the Warendorf region is characterized by a large number of cement companies that in some cases have very long histories. However, not all plants are operated until their authorized deposits have been exhausted, which means that in this case there is the problem of what to do with the partially exploited limestone quarries.
