First GPSE MVR mill in the USA for the Lafarge Ravena modernization project

Lafarge North America Inc. has contracted with Gebr. Pfeiffer, Inc., a subsidiary of Gebr. Pfeiffer SE, with headquarters in Kaiserslautern/ Germany, to utilize the latest innovative MVR technology for vertical roller mills as part of the overall modernization project underway at the Lafarge Ravena plant located in the town of Coeymans, New York.
The modernization project will replace the current “wet” process with a more energy efficient “dry” cement-making process, allowing the plant to also increase capacity. GPSE´s MVR 6000 R-6 will be installed in a complete new line at the plant, replacing two existing raw material “slurry” mills.
Gebr. Pfeiffer’s scope will include the delivery of the MVR 6000 R-6 raw mill, a 5600 kW motor, plant engineering and supervision services for erection and commissioning as well as related services.
Commissioning for this project is planned for the middle of 2016.
