blended nanographite – Part 2
Research results suggest that the use of nanographite in the CFA-C system and the pure cement system accelerate the setting time and increase the strength gains, hence overweighing any negative effects. The water absorption, apparent volume, apparent density, CH-content, setting-time, fluidity and strength gain are favourable when compared to pure cement and nanographite-blended cement. Part 1 discussed materials and methods, Part 2 focuses on the results and conclusions.
3 Results and discussions
3.1 Water absorption
These mortars are completely immersed in water to evaluate their water-absorption capacity. The average water absorptions of the blended mortars compared to CMs are presented in Figure 3.
It can be suggested that prolonged curing, increasing the age and percentages of nG, can lead to a reduction in permeable voids. This is due to the high action and activation effects of nG.
