(57) A method for removing heavy metals in a flue gas: (1) embedding a nanomaterial onto a fibrous substrate; (2) passing a flue gas containing heavy metals through the fibrous substrate on which the nanomaterial is embedded; and, (3) capturing the heavy metals in the flue gas by having the nanomaterial reacting with the heavy metals in the flue gas. Nano flue gas heavy metal removal equipment, which is characterized in that it comprises the fibrous substrate on which the nanomaterial is embedded. Advantages: 1. the equipment is capable of removing mercury and other heavy metals, such as lead, produced in an exhaust gas of coal combustion; 2. the equipment provides benefits from recycling that far exceed operating costs of the equipment itself, thus allowing a user to acquire further profits; 3. the equipment is applicable in industry markets, including cement plants, steel mills, municipal waste incineration plants, medical waste incineration plant, chlorine production plants, pulp and paper mills; and, 4. the equipment utilize fan rotation to produce a centrifugal force, thus ensuring that the flue gas is fully mixed and no backpressure is produced.
