Harnessing the potential of process analysis – the need for standardization

Summary: Intense pressure on manufacturing costs across many industries continues to fuel the demand for fully automated process control. Its achievement, however, requires the integration of process analyzers from different vendors, in a way that ensures highly effective data transfer and control. With this goal in mind, a variety of interested parties have come together to address issues of standardization. The recently formed OPC Analyser Device Integration (OPC ADI) working group is made up of both instrument manufacturers and industrial users of analytical instrumentation.
