(57) Summary of the corresponding patent WO2018059715 (A1): The invention relates to a process enabling the use of alternative fuels, mainly the use of wastes materials or Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) containing high chlorine content, in a kiln for clinker production, in particular Portland clinker production. The invention consists essentially in introducing in the kiln a required additive, namely sulfur, in order to reduce the evaporating rate of chlorine from the alternative fuels in the kiln and to fix it into clinker, so that buildups, clogging, blockages and rings formation in the kiln due to the presence of these volatile chloride components are avoided.
